CUSTOM PAINTING COMMISSION POLICIES

***NO EXCEPTIONS!***
If you are unable to work within these terms and conditions,
then you need to find another artist to work with!
ALL ORDERS ARE ACCEPTED ON THE ASSUMPTION
THAT THE CUSTOMER HAS READ AND AGREED TO ALL
TERMS AND CONDITIONS LISTED ON THIS WEB PAGE!
* I am accepting commissions on my own sculptures, and a few by other Artists (upon approval) at this time.
* All orders are accepted one at a time. I will maintain a waiting list, and as soon as I finish a piece, I will contact the next person on the list.
* I will need a name and eMail address for each person on the waiting list. If you are unable for me to do your piece at the time I notify you, I can put your name at the bottom of the list for a future time.
* If you are also purchasing a resin from me, it must be fully paid for before I begin the paint work.
* All pieces need to arrive PREPPED and ready to Paint except for my own sculptures. Pieces that arrive unprepped will incur a $50.00 prepping charge.
* 50% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED for painting when I begin work on your Commission NO EXCEPTIONS!
* I do not accept time payments or partial payments for Custom Painting Commissions!
* Balance due within 7 days when the piece is completed. Shipping and insurance is NOT included, it will be figured when I box up the piece for shipment.
* Payment may be made by PayPal, Personal Check, or Money Order. Payment made by Personal Check or Money Order will be held for 2 weeks until it clears my bank before I will ship.
* I ONLY paint realistic colors and patterns - NO Fantasy or Decorator colors. I am happy to work from reference photos of REAL animals.
I will not work from Paintings, Drawings or examples created in Photoshop! These can be eMailed to me or mailed along with your resin.
(If they are sent with the resin, I will return them with the finished piece.)
* 50% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED before I begin work on your piece. NO EXCEPTIONS!
* *** I DO NOT PAINT PIECES SMALLER THAN CLASSIC SCALE OR LARGER THAN TRADITIONAL SCALE! ***
* I reserve the right to decline colors or patterns that I am not comfortable with or feel would not be a good reflection of my painting skills.
* I am not available to sculpt or customize pieces to order.
* I understand that sometimes the "unexpected" happens, but please DON'T DISAPPEAR ON ME!!! Any piece will be considered as "abandoned" if I do not hear from you within 7 days of me notifying you that I have finished the piece,
Any money paid to me will be forfieted. An unpainted copy of the sculpture, (if available), will be returned to the customer at their expense. No further Commissions will be accepted from those persons in the future.
* I reserve the right to cancel any order at any time!
Should *I* need to cancel an order, deposit will be refunded and the sculpture will be returned to customer immediately at my expense.
* I reserve the right to use photos of your finished piece for advertising or promotion at any time in the future.
* Because my schedule varies and my time is limited, I cannot predict or guarantee a completion date. Your order may take 3 - 4 months (or more) to complete.
* Even though a piece feels dry to the touch, please keep in mind that Oil painted pieces take MONTHS to fully cure!
Freshly painted pieces MUST be opened immediately upon receipt and need to be stored on a shelf in a climate-controlled environment.
DO NOT store in any kind of paper, bubble wrap or in a closed container for extended periods of time and avoid exposure to excessive heat.
Failure to do so can result in damage to the paint work and will NOT be warrantied by the Artist.
* The pieces I create are FINE ART and should be treated as such!
DEFINING YOUR ORDER
I want to make clear to all of my customers the differences between a
"Custom" painting order and a "Portrait" painting order.
CUSTOM - is when you say (for example), "I would like this a bay with a couple of socks", etc.
You can either describe the color to me and/or you can send a couple of color examples to show me. You can request markings, or you can leave them up to me.
PORTRAIT - If you send photos and they must match exactly, I consider that a "Portrait" order and it is an extra charge of $100.00. Please note:
The conformation of the sculpture used for painting is usually different than the conformation of the horse in the photo references sent.
These differences can make markings appear slightly different on the sculpture. I will match the color and markings to the very best of my ability
but I do NOT guarantee "Photographic accuracy".
I will not accept Heavily Dappled colors, Flea-Bitten Grey, Leopard/Semi-Leopard Appaloosa, extreme Pinto or other complex patterned colors for Commission work.
Though I may occasionally paint them on sales pieces.
I will eMail you photos of your piece for approval as soon as the piece is completed!
PRICING
TRADITIONAL ADULTS - (1/9th scale)
Solid Colors (incuding Roan) - $550.00
Solid Colors with light dappling, Grulla or Dun - $600.00
ALL Pinto, Sabino Roan, and Appaloosa colors will be charged for the base body color plus the white markings BY THE HOUR at $35.00 per hour. .
(I will be happy to give you an estimate of how many hours I think it will take, but due to the nature of the work, actual price may vary.)
CLASSIC SCALE or TRADITIONAL FOALS
Solid Colors (incuding Roan) - $300.00
Solid Colors with light dappling, Grulla or Dun - $350.00
ALL Pinto, Sabino Roan, and Appaloosa colors will be charged for the base body color plus the white markings BY THE HOUR at $35.00 per hour. .
(I will be happy to give you an estimate of how many hours I think it will take, but due to the nature of the work, actual price may vary.)
TURNAROUND TIME:
Because I am always working on several projects at a time, it could be 2 - 3 months for me to finish a Commission piece.
PAYMENTS:
Payment may be made by PayPal, Personal Check or Money Order.
Personal Checks and Money Orders will be held for 2 weeks until it clears my bank before I will ship.
RETURN SHIPPING:
Shipping & Insurance to be paid in a separate payment when your order is ready to ship back to you. I ONLY ship USPS Priority Mail, charging exact cost plus a $6.00 packaging fee figured when the piece is boxed up.
Customer is encouraged to insure pieces sent to the Artist for painting.
EXTREME WEATHER CAVEAT: Extreme heat or cold can cause damage to a piece, regardless of how well packed it is!
There have been a few occasions where a piece got extremely HOT or COLD en-route to the customer and arrived sticky (from excessive heat) or has had breakage
(from excessive cold) with no visible trauma to the box. If the temperatures are predicted to be extremely hot (over 100F) or cold (under 10F),
I will advise you to consider deferring shipment until temperatures moderate.
