PEARL

This is my Artist Resin, "Pregnant Pause", which depicts a pony mare just "a little bit pregnant" and napping.    I painted her a super contrasty dapple grey, in glowing, durable oils.    And then I added zillions of light and dark single-hairs penciled in over the top giving the painting extra texture.    Her ear tips, nostril edges and corners of her mouth have a protective coating of clear nail polish and she is finished and sealed with several coats of Krylon Matte Spray for an extra-tough, durable finish that will stand up to live showing.    She is permanently attached to a thin, textured basswood base for stability.
